Taxis in Beijing are cheap and plentiful, and always on the lookout for customers. Most taxis are metered, with fares differing depending on the condition of the car. Taxis can be hired for a day and fare is negotiable. Taxis are available at Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel or may be hailed from the street.
