How to join Golden Circle programme?
Answer:
Golden Circle membership is only available when staying at Shangri-La and Traders hotels and is by invitation only.
Invitation to join Golden Circle will be extended to the paying guest upon check-in when staying at qualifying rate.
Only individuals aged 18 and above are eligible to enroll in the Golden Circle programme. Corporations, associations or groups are not eligible for membership.
For qualifying enrollment, members can receive relevant member benefits on the same stay except the "Partner Stays Free" benefit which is only applicable starting from next hotel stay.

Can a member re-enrol as a member of Golden Circle?
Answer:
If you are already a member of Golden Circle please DO NOT enroll again. As you will be issued with a new membership number and card which will not be connected with your existing membership account. As you will only receive stay or mileage credit in one account at a time it will reduce your chance for upgrade or requalification.
If you have re-enrolled by mistake, please email our service centre at golden.circle@shangri-la.com providing your name, address, date of birth and the two membership numbers. We will then merge the two memberships and advise you by return the membership number that remains valid.

Can member has a Joint Account for Spouses?
Answer:
There is no Joint Account for Spouses in Golden Circle programme and membership is not transferable.

When can a new member expect to receive the permanent membership card and kit?
Answer:
If you have already enrolled as a member during your stay at a Shangri-La or Traders hotel and are holding a temporary membership card, you should allow 3-4 weeks for your application to be processed and your membership card to be sent to you.
Please contact our service centre at golden.circle@shangri-la.com if you still have not received your membership card after 5 weeks by providing your name, membership number, date of birth and address in the email. We will verify your address and a replacement will be arranged for you.

What is the Membership Upgrade Requirement?
Answer:
Members will be upgraded to the next higher tier when in the course of one calendar year, i.e. 1 January to 31 December, they have completed the following activity:
Elite
60 qualifying room nights at three or more Shangri-La hotels or resorts
Executive
20 qualifying room nights at two or more Shangri-La hotels or resorts

Members must requalify each year for the following year's membership status. On a yearly basis, that is from January 1 to December 31, the total qualifying room nights recorded in the member's account will determine membership status for the next membership year.

Classic Members
There is no expiry date on Classic membership card. However, members will have to reactivate their membership if it has become inactive due to no stays in one calendar year. Please access to Reactivation of Membership for details on how to reactivate your account.
Executive and Elite Members
Members will receive their renewal kit in the month of February.
Benefit Period
All members will receive relevant benefits pertaining to their current membership tier untill the end of February. Any new member benefits due to change of membership tier resulted from annual requalification will be applicable from March 1.

How to keep Membership active?
Answer:
Classic members must have at least one stay recorded in their account within a calendar year , i.e. 1 January to 31 December, in order to keep the membership active.
Classic members without any stay activities at any Shangri-La hotels in one calendar year will be classified as Inactive and will result in the forfeiture of any membership benefits.

How to reactivate an Inactive Membership?
Answer:
Classic members may reactivate their membership by staying once at a Shangri-La hotel or resort. However no member benefits will be extended during the first stay after inactivation of membership.

How to apply for replacement card?
Answer:
A replacement card can be requested by log in to your membership account at www.goldencircle.shangri-la.com, and click on the "Request a New Card" at "Member Services".
Members will expect to receive the replacement card in approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
In the meantime, simply quote your membership number when making reservations so that relevant member benefits will be extended to you during your stay.

How to make a name change of the membership?

Upon successful verification, we will confirm to you by email once the change is completed. And a new membership card will be issued and sent to you accordingly.

Can hotel stays incurred prior to enrollment be credited to member's account?
Answer:
New members can only receive credit for hotel stays/room nights taken as of their enrollment date.
There is no retro claim for any stays incurred by member prior to become a member of Golden Circle.

What are the Golden Circle Stays / Room Nights accumulation criteria?
Answer:
Accumulation criteria is based on qualifying stays.
Non-qualifying stays are:
- Stays in conjunction with airline and/or travel industry discounts
- Stays of airline crew members paid by the airline
- Stays for Group Conventions / Corporate Meetings
- Complimentary Stays

When will my hotel stays be counted for upgrade?
Answer:
It will take about 4 days to process hotel stays from date of check out. Qualifying stays will then be credited to member's account. Only qualifying stays accumulated in member's account within one calendar year, i.e. 1 January to 31 December, will be taken into account for membership upgrade.

How can members obtain information about their stay records?
Answer:
Members can view the number of qualifying stays / room nights accumulated in the current calendar year, i.e. 1 January to 31 December, by accessing to their account online.
Simply enter your member number and password into the "Member Login" area of the Golden Circle home page. Members can view the following account information in the "Account Overview" option:
- Stay Activities of Current Membership Year
- Total Qualifying Room Nights
Though not being displayed on-line, stays accumulated by members in previous years since enrollment are still recorded in member's account. If you have any questions about your stay records, please contact our service centre by email at golden.circle@shangri-la.com.

How to file claims on missing stay credits?
Answer:
Golden Circle makes every effort to ensure members accounts are properly credited. Members should wait at least for 4 days from date of hotel departure before filing a claim for missing credits.
Any requests for missing stay credits should be sent by email to our service centre at golden.circle@shangri-la.com or use the "Contact Us" option.
Please include your name, membership number, name of the hotel and period of stay in the email for processing.
To ensure you receive your stay credits, please provide your Golden Circle membership number when you make your Shangri-La reservation and present your Golden Circle membership card when you check-in.

Can membership points be redeemed for complimentary room nights or other rewards?
Answer:
Golden Circle is an exclusive frequent guest recognition programme designed to enhance your every stay. Unlike other loyalty programmes, Golden Circle does not offer points in redemption for complimentary room nights or rewards , rather, it provides recognition at the highest level.
Room night credits are used only for membership tier upgrades and annual re-qualification of membership.

Will room night credits be extended to both members for double occupancy?
Answer:
Regardless of the number of registered guests per room, only one qualifying stay will be credited to a paying guest/member per stay.

Will a member receive room night credits on Multiple Rooms?
Answer:
Reservations of multiple rooms, under the same name of a Golden Circle Member, during the same stay shall only be counted as one qualifying stay.

Can hotel stay credits be transferred to other members?
Answer:
Membership in Golden Circle is issued strictly on an individual basis. Members can only receive credit for hotel stays taken in their own name.
Credits cannot be transferred from one member to the other.

How to activate member's online account?
Answer:
Before members can access to their member profile, members must activate their Golden Circle online account.
Following are the steps:
- Log on to the Golden Circle home page and click on the "Activate Your Online Account" at "Member Login".
- You will be asked to enter your "Membership Number", "Last Name" and "Date of Birth". You will then be guided to step 2 of the process.
- Enter your "Email address" registered in your membership profile and the "Preferred password". Upon completion of these steps you will be able to access your account at any time. To do so, simply enter your member number and password into the "Member Login" area of the Golden Circle home page.
Question:
Cannot update Member's Last and First Name in the "Update My Profile" page?
Answer:
The update function for Last and First Name in the "Personal Information" page has been disabled on line. This is due to the fact that follow-up action is required from our service centre for this change.
Any request for change/updates for Last and First Name should be sent by email to our service centre on golden.circle@shangri-la.com including your name, membership number and date of birth in the email for verfication purpose.
Once the name change being updated to Member's profile, a new membership card will be prepared and sent to member in approximately 3-4 weeks. There will be no change to the membership number.

Unable to login to member profile due to Incorrect Membership Number?
Answer:
The correct Membership Number must be entered before member can login to their online account. Members will be prompted if incorrect number being entered. If this happens, member will have to contact our service centre at golden.circle@shangri-la.com include name, passport number, date of birth and address in the email.
Upon successful verification, a correct membership number will be sent to the member by email.

Forgot Password. How obtain a new password?
Answer:
Members can request for a new password online. Simply click the "Password Assistance" tab under "Member Login". Then provide your "Membership Number" as Username and click "Conintue".
Upon successful validation, a system generated password will be sent to the email address provided in your membership profile.
If you do not receive our email within the next 12 hours after submitting your request, please write to us at golden.circle@shangri-la.com.

Member's email address has been changed and wants to obtain a new password by using the "Passowrd Assistance" function online?
Answer:
Member must first update the new email address to their profile prior to use the "Password Assistance" function online.
Upon receipt of email confirmation, member must wait for at least 2 days prior to use the "Password Assistance" function online. This is to ensure that the new password is being sent to your new email address.

All frequent flyer credits apply only when member staying at a non-discount or corporate rate. Members are entitled to one mileage credit per stay.

"Inner Circle" is a bi-weekly e-newsletter. It provides members with updated news about Shangri-La. It also provides information on special offers extended by hotels specifically to Golden Circle members.
Members can also send feedback to the Editor regarding their hotel stays at Shangri-La. A "Letter of the Month" will be selected once a month from the submissions. The prize is a "2 complimentary nights stay" in a suite at any Shangri-La hotels.

How to make reservations online? Can members make use of their Golden Circle profile to make reservations? Can members view and modify their bookings?
Answer:
Golden Circle members can use their personal details provided in the membership profile to make bookings online by simply following below steps:
- Click on "Your Account" enter your Golden Circle membership number and Password, click "sign in". Your member profile will be retrieved.
- If necessary, you can also make profile updates on the "Update your personal information" button at this time.
- Click on the heading "Rates & Reservations" at the top left hand bar of the page, you will be asked to choose your destination.
- At the "Check Availability" section, specify the period of stay, number of rooms and guest details, then click "Show rates and offers".
- Select the preferred room type and rate. You can also click on the "Rate Value" to view the prices in other currencies. Click "Continue
